
Umamaheswar Duvvuri, MD, PhD
Umamaheswar Duvvuri, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Otolaryngology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine with a specialty in Head & Neck Surgery. He is the Director of Robotic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and a Co-Leader of the Head & Neck Cancer Program at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute. Dr. Duvvuri is board-certified in Otolaryngology. He received an undergraduate degree and completed a medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He completed an Otolaryngology residency at UPMC and a head and neck surgery fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. In addition to his extensive surgical experience, Dr. Duvvuri has authored and co-authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications, focusing on outcomes of head and neck cancers and robotic and minimally invasive head and neck surgery. He is a member of many professional organizations, including the American Head & Neck Society, American Academy of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, American Association for Cancer Research, and the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, as an NCI Investigator. Dr. Duvvuri has trained and mentored surgeons nationally and internationally in robotic surgery. He also directs a federally funded research laboratory that integrates translational science with cellular signaling to develop better therapies for patients with head and neck cancer.
